‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director
Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt prepared to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can now express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the film, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without mirth".
"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted
Recently, a Los Angeles judge agreed to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the local authorities.
A court order placed a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" associated with the ongoing investigation.
The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the critics recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan labeled the comments as "disappointing" and implied they showed a worrisome absence of compassion.
Rogan ended by suggesting that an adviser should have stepped in when the choice to speak on the death was made.
