Fans anticipating the release of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait much longer. A free-to-play playable preview is set to go live on the seventh of January, offering a substantial taste into the game's opening hours. Notably, any advancement earned within this demo will be able to be imported directly into the main game upon its eventual debut.

This title represents a ground-up re-envisioning of the landmark 2000 RPG, initially known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. In a notable step away from recent series remakes, such as the previously released HD-2D versions, this version utilizes a unique 3D aesthetic. • Expanded Job System: One completely new vocation has been introduced for this remake. Additionally, party members gain the capacity to master a second vocation, greatly enhancing customization options.

These changes seek to mitigate a key the 2000 game's frequent points of feedback: its daunting playtime. The original storyline was known to require more than 100 hours to see through. This reimagined edition was specifically reworked to improve pacing and reduce any filler.

Subsequently, the full adventure, Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, is then set to launch on 5th February 2026. It will be available on a broad range of systems, such as Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
