Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the team after the controversy from his televised remarks.
What Happened
He was omitted from a vital match after voicing frustrations and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The manager has refused to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
He also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
