The families of teens missing after a devastating fire at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are confronting an excruciating period of uncertainty for official news and requesting clues about their children publicly.

The inferno engulfed the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Confirmed images reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have stated that it could take an extended period to formally name the fatalities of the fire, which killed four dozen individuals and wounded another scores more.
