Top-ranked Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Year of Dominance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka concluded the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and picked up a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.
She received nearly 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a new level".

- Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking 13-month break following the arrival of her first child and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Rookie of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after beginning the season positioned beyond the world's top 300 and climbing to the eighteenth spot.
- Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after securing their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
- Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after making five championship matches.
Last week, Carlos Alcaraz took home three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
