Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
